My experience with the loving-kindness exercise was
interesting. I tried it three times a
day apart. I found it beneficial but
difficult. I have always had a hard time
loving myself. I always feel that I’m
undeserving because I’m not worthy of it. But I do find it very easy to love
others. My daughter was who I thought of
with tenderness, my boyfriend who just lost his favorite grandmother
unexpectedly was who I breathed out loving kindness to, and all the patients at
the hospital (strangers) were easy to send loving kindness to. It is just difficult to give love to
myself. I would recommend this to others
as a way to learn to love yourself if you have trouble with that.
Mental workouts are beneficial on so many levels. It helps you concentrate better but yet makes
you more aware of what is going on around you.
I think I can implement mental workouts into my life to help me love
myself. If I can love myself I will be
better at loving others.
